Talent marketplaces like MVP Match promise to connect businesses with top tech talent in just a few clicks. But in reality, it’s hard to find good talent on your own.
But before you jump in to using MVP Match to hire developers, you need to understand exactly what you’re getting into. We’ll discover how the platform operates, its pros, cons, and pricing to help you decide if it fits your needs. And if it isn’t, we’ve got some great alternatives lined up for you.
What is MVP Match?
MVP Match is a talent marketplace that helps companies build software development teams to scale their products. They provide access to freelance devs and teams for hire. It was founded by Levin Wense, Niklas Lechner, and Philipp Petrescu in 2017. The platform started as a developer agency before pivoting to become a dev marketplace where companies hire freelancers to build digital products. MVP Match currently has a talent pool of about 2400 developers.
How to hire talent from MVP Match
MVP Match allows you to hire a single developer or build a whole team of experts. Here’s how it works:
Book a call with a rep to discuss your project and decide on your team setup. This includes the number of devs you want and other details like budget, project timeline, and skills needed.
MVP Match will send you a tailored team proposal for you to review and make revisions.
Once you’ve approved the team or dev, MVP Match will handle the contracts and onboarding, then you can get started.
MVP Match Vetting Process
MVP Match isn’t forthcoming with its vetting process. We searched online to get an idea of how MVP Match vets and recruits its developers but to no avail.
While it claims to operate an invite-only talent network, it doesn’t state what requirements developers must fulfill to be accepted. This makes it difficult to assess the quality of their talent pool–you can only take their word for it.
MVP Match Pricing
There’s not much pricing information available on their website. However, there’s a clue about their average hourly rates based on featured developers on their website. It ranges from $85 to $115 per hour.

MVP Match connects freelancers with companies across various tech fields, including software engineering and product management. But while they give hiring flexibility and access to a large talent pool, they’re not transparent with their vetting process or pricing. This makes it hard to know if you're getting good value. That’s why it might be better to look at other platforms that are more open about their vetting process and pricing.
